NJ Woodturners member Dennis Weiner is provided a demo – via Zoom — entitled: “Utilizing Aluminum Extrusions In The Construction of Woodturning Accessories” on Monday August 3rd 2020.
Dennis discussed in detail several jigs and devices he’s created out of extruded aluminum parts to aid in woodturning and sharpening. Of note was an invention that provides a laser-driven “storyboard” guide for the shape he wants to turn. The device is suspended above the lathe – along the center-line of the bed – and uses several inexpensive lasers to project the desired shape on to the wood blank.
